$ 26.99

1:115 Scale  Metal Diecast – Lockheed P-38 Lightning – Length: 4.25"  Wingspan: 5.5”

This P-38 model is made to be displayed in the inflight configuration. It is mostly made of metal and very heavy/dense. It is certainly not a toy and will not survive been played with or a fall.

Although it is a small scale, the details are very impressive.

Since there is no option for a landing gear, a stand where the model can be attached for display is included and the model's info (type of airplane and scale).

The maker of the model really did a good job with the model, the panel lines and details are very clear and crisp.What really caught my attention, however, is the way the markings and coloring. Look at the photos and you will see very clear and crisp nose art and markings.

The model comes in a window box that measures 6" by 6" by 2.5"

The Lockheed P-38 Lightning was a World War II American propeller driven fighter aircraft. Developed to a United States Army Air Corps requirement, the P-38 had distinctive twin booms and a single, centralnacelle containing the cockpit and armament. Named "fork-tailed devil" (der Gabelschwanz-Teufel) by theLuftwaffe and "two planes, one pilot" (2飛行機、1パイロット Ni hikōki, ippairotto?) by the Japanese,[7] the P-38 was used in a number of roles, including interception, dive bombinglevel bombingground-attack,night fightingphoto reconnaissance, radar and visual pathfinding for bombers, and evacuation missions,[8] and extensively as a long-range escort fighter when equipped with drop tanks under its wings.
