1:72 Scale Diecast Metal - Lockheed Martin F-16C Fighting Falcon South Dakota National Air Guard – Length: 7.75" Wingspan: 5.5”
This model includes a pilot figure. The canopy can open to allow the positioning of the pilot figure. This model comes with different types of weapons, fuel tanks and targeting pods. It does includes a detailed landing gear as well as the covers of the wheel wells to give the appearance of in-flight. There is a plastic stand included.
This is really a "no-play" model or a "display-only" model. It is mostly metal and very heavy. It also has a number of antennas which look great but are very fragile. If you have small kids that like to play with your models, save yourself some frustration (and money) and wait till later to get a model like this one. The box is labeled as not suitable for children under 14.
The box measures 8.5 inches by 8.5 inches by 3 inches.
The General Dynamics (now Lockheed Martin) F-16 Fighting Falcon is a single-engine multirole fighter aircraft originally developed by General Dynamics for the United States Air Force (USAF). Designed as an air superiority day fighter, it evolved into a successful all-weather multirole aircraft. Over 4,500 aircraft have been built since production was approved in 1976. Although no longer being purchased by the U.S. Air Force, improved versions are still being built for export customers. In 1993, General Dynamics sold its aircraft manufacturing business to the Lockheed Corporation, which in turn became part of Lockheed Martin after a 1995 merger with Martin Marietta.
