Short Tucano T1 1/72 Scale Diecast Metal Model by Aviation72

1:72 Scale  Diecast Metal  – Short Tucano – Length: 5.25"  Wingspan: 6.25”

 This Tucano model is a twin seat model and does include two pilot/crew figures. The cockpit can not open. The landing gear is nicely detailed and is fixed in the extended position. A stand where the model can be attached for display is included.

 The maker of the model, Aviation72, really did a good job with the model, the diecast metal construction feels quite heavy. The metal seems too be more rigid and thicker than comparable 1/72 scale models. The panel lines and details are very clear and crisp.What really caught my attention, however, is the way the markings and coloring are done. 

Unlike bigger models, there is nothing to assemble for these models. All weapons and fuel tanks are already attached to the model. One just needs to open the pack and display it (or play with it).

The packaging labels these model as "Collectible Product" and "Not suitable for children under 14 years".

The box measures 8 inches by 8 inches by 3 inches.

The Short Tucano is a two-seat turboprop basic trainer built by Short Brothers in Belfast, Northern Ireland. It is a licence-built version of the Brazilian Embraer EMB-312 Tucano. The main operator is the Royal Air Force with exports to Kenya and Kuwait.

The Embraer EMB 312 Tucano is a low-wing tandem-seat single-turboprop basic trainer with counter-insurgency capability developed in Brazil. The Brazilian Air Force sponsored the EMB-312 project at the end of 1978. Design and development work began in 1979 on a low-cost, relatively simple new basic trainer with innovative features which eventually became the international standard for basic training aircraft. The prototype first flew in 1980, and initial production units were delivered in 1983.
