This model of the 918 Spyder is about 7.5 inches long, 3 inches wide and 2nches high (from ground to the top of the windshield. It is highly detailed, with beautiful body paint and accurate markings. Welly does very high quality models and this one is not the exception. headlights, taillights and turn signals are made of separate plastic pieces which makes the whole model look very realistic.
Doors can open to reveal a very detailed and accurate interior with some touches of color on parts such as seats, seat belt buckles and even on the instrument panel. If one is observant, one can see that the brakes rotors and shoes are visible through the wheels.
The models we have are the ones that come in a display tray box of 4 models per box (The type of box that would be on a counter in a store). These are not the models that come in individual window box. They will be expertly (for real, I am the one who does it) packed for shipping (they will be better protected than an in an individual window box).
Keep in mind that this type of models are not really toys and will not last long or keep nicely if play with regularly.
The Porsche 918 Spyder is a mid-engined plug-in hybrid sports car designed by Porsche. The Spyder is powered by anaturally-aspirated 4.6 litre V8 engine, developing 608 horsepower (453 kW), with two electric motors delivering an additional 279 horsepower (208 kW) for a combined output of 887 horsepower (661 kW). The 918 Spyder's 6.8 kWhlithium-ion battery pack delivers an all-electric range of 19 km (12 mi) under EPA's five-cycle tests.[1] The car has a top speed of around 340 km/h (210 mph).[3]
The 918 Spyder is a limited edition sports car, with 918 units manufactured and sold as a 2014 model year. Production began on September 18, 2013, with deliveries initially scheduled to begin in December 2013.[4][5] The starting price wasUS$847,000.[3] The 918 Spyder was the second plug-in hybrid car from Porsche, after the 2014 Panamera S E-Hybrid.[6]The 918 Spyder was sold out in December 2014. The country with the most orders was the United States with 297 units.[7] Production ended in June 2015.[8]
The 918 Spyder was first shown as a concept at the 80th Geneva Motor Show in March 2010.[4] The production version was unveiled at the September 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show.[9] Porsche also unveiled the RSR racing variant of the 918 at the 2011 North American International Auto Show, which combines hybrid technology first used in the 997 GT3 R Hybrid, with styling from the 918 Spyder.[10]
