1:250 Scale – Shin Meiwa US-2 Flying Boat - Japanese Maritime Self-Defense Force – Length: 7.5"  Wingspan: 7.5”

This US-1A is made of a combination of metal and plastic parts. The landing gear is fixed in the extended position and there is no stand included. There is a small transparent plastic plate that displays the model's type, however this is all in Japanese.

This is a Japanese import so all the labeling and branding are in Japanese. 

 The maker of the model, DeAgostini, really did a good job with the model, the panel lines and details are very crisp and one can see the little dots that represent the rivets holding down the panels.

The model comes encased in plastic shells.

This is really a "no-play" model or a "display-only" model. It also has a number of antennas which look great but are very fragile. If you have small kids that like to play with your models, save yourself some frustration (and money) and wait till later to get a model like this one. The box is labeled as not suitable for children under 14.

The package measures 6.5" x 7" x 2"

The Shin Meiwa PS-1 and US-1A (Japanese: 新明和 PS-1, US-1A) are large STOL aircraft designed foranti-submarine warfare (ASW) and air-sea rescue (SAR) work respectively. The PS-1 was a flying boatwhich carried its own beaching gear on board, while the US-1A is a true amphibian.
