1:72 Scale  Diecast Metal - 1:72 Scale Diecast Metal  - Curtiss P-40N Warhawk - "Boss's Hoss," 9-Victory ace Lt. Col. William Reed, 7th FS, 3rd FG, Chinese-American Composite Wing, 1944 – Length: 6"  Wingspan: 6.25”

This model is a single seat airplane. The cockpit is glue shut. It has no pilot figure included. The landing gear is optional and can be attached or omitted to display the model in in-flight configuration. A display stand is included.

This is really a "no-play" model or a "display-only" model. It is mostly metal and very heavy. It also has a number of antennas which look great but are very fragile. If you have small kids that like to play with your models, save yourself some frustration (and money) and wait till later to get a model like this one. The box is labeled as not suitable for children under 14.

The Curtiss P-40 Warhawk was an American single-engined, single-seat, all-metalfighter and ground-attack aircraft that first flew in 1938. The P-40 design was a modification of the previous Curtiss P-36 Hawk which reduced development time and enabled a rapid entry into production and operational service. The Warhawk was used by most Allied powers during World War II, and remained in frontline service until the end of the war. It was the third most-produced American fighter, after the P-51 and P-47; by November 1944, when production of the P-40 ceased, 13,738 had been built, all atCurtiss-Wright Corporation's main production facilities at Buffalo, New York.
